Alpha Gamma Delta was founded on May 30, 1904, at Syracuse University in New York, by 11 progressive and influential women.
Our colours are red, buff and green, our flowers are red and buff roses, and our mascot is the squirrel. In 1919, Alpha Gamma Delta became the first women’s fraternity to adopt a philanthropic focus.
Delta Zeta chapter was installed at the University of British Columbia on May 10, 1930. Since then, more than 1,600 women have joined Alpha Gamma Delta at UBC.
Alpha Gamma Delta has seven active chapters in Canada (UBC, Alberta, Calgary, Manitoba, Western, Toronto, Dalhousie), and 199 across North America. Our Vancouver Alumnae Chapter is a vibrant group of women with diverse undergrad experiences from nearly 30 different Alpha Gam chapters and ranging in age from 22 to 102, creating a personal and professional network like no other.
