Alpha Gamma Delta offers multiple leadership development opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Through four paths, our experiential leadership development program aims to meet Alpha Gams where they are in life and encourages members to come together with the goal of seeing our talents multiplied and our connections strengthened.
Upon joining, all new members participate in Embark, a program that fosters friendships and creates a strong sense of belonging as you begin your experience within Alpha Gamma Delta. New members are paired with a ‘big sister’ who provides guidance and support, and enjoy activities as a new member class in addition to chapter-wide events.
Our 2nd to 4th year members participate in the Elevate program, which covers a variety of relevant topics from resume writing and interview skills to inclusive leadership and personal financial management. Programming is delivered by chapter members, alumnae and external speakers.
For members seeking an advanced leadership and learning experience, Empower is a cohort-based personal, professional and leadership development program for select leaders across all of Alpha Gamma Delta, culminating with an in-person weekend capstone experience.
Engage is dedicated to the enrichment of our alumnae experience, focusing on well-roundedness. This part of our leadership development journey prioritizes cherishing lifelong friendships and offers opportunities and resources to provide lasting development. As members prepare for graduation and become recent graduates, the Grad Journeys program offers online and in-person sessions led by accomplished alumnae who provide expert insights to help you successfully transition into life after undergrad.
Each winter, select officers from all Alpha Gamma Delta collegiate chapters are invited to the Academy for Collegiate Officers, an in-person session to explore their leadership strengths, develop goals, connect with alumnae and learn from engaging keynote speakers.
After graduation, members have the opportunity to become Leadership Consultants, who are trained to coach and guide our chapters. Leadership Consultants (LCs) spend the summer at our International Headquarters and receive training in all operational areas of the Fraternity, in addition to leadership development, facilitation and public speaking, coaching, change management and more! An LC may represent the Fraternity by travelling to support a different chapter each week, as a stationed consultant providing consistent support to a chapter, or as an extension consultant recruiting and supporting a new provisional chapter.
Held every two years, International Convention is a huge Alpha Gam leadership and sisterhood highlight. While all members are welcome, our collegiate President and a sister from each of the 1st and 2nd year member classes receive sponsorship to attend. Our next Convention will be held June 2026 in Phoenix, Arizona.
We acknowledge that UBC’s main campus is situated within the ancestral and unceded territory of the Musqueam people.
